Walking the Via Dell’Amore from Riomaggiore to Manarola

Walking the Via Dell’Amore from Riomaggiore to Manarola

We woke up this morning to a beautiful day and breakfast delivered to our door. All is well with the world.

Eventually we got ready to walk the famous cliff hugging path from this village to the next, called the via Dell’Amore.

It’s actually quite tame now, after a decade long reconstruction and wall reinforcement. Parts of the original, rickety wood hanging pathway are still visible (but luckily inaccessible) below.

Even the path from our place to the start of the official path is picturesque.

The village of Manarola literally spills down to the sea.

Of course – we need a gelato.

Back to Riomaggiore for another amazing sunset

Tomorrow is our 42nd anniversary. We’re not sure what we’re going to do. Just being here has made it very special, so we’re kind of just thinking that we will just carry on going with the flow.
